Oven Baked Cabbage Burgers
Oven Baked Cabbage Burgers
Ingredients:
- 1 head of green cabbage, cut into 1-inch slices
- 1 pounds of lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt and black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon grated garlic
- 1/2 cup chopped green onion
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
Instructions:
- To make the roasted cabbage burgers: Preheat your oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Arrange the cabbage slices on a rimmed sheet pan. Brush a little oil on the cabbage slices and season with salt and pepper.
- Roast the cabbage slices in the oven for about 10 minutes so they get precooked - giving you a headstart to avoid overcooking the beef patties afterward.
- In the meantime: In a large bowl, combine the lean ground beef with garlic, green onion, parsley, red chili pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Divide the mixture into four beef patties.
- Remove cabbage from the oven, then spread a tablespoon of tomato sauce on top.
- Bake the cabbage beef burgers in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the burgers are done to your liking. Sprinkle the baked cabbage burgers with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
