Ozempic in Cleveland TN

Greetings. You have discovered the website homepage directory to our Tennessee weight loss location.

We currently help clients Nationwide achieve their weight loss goals in Cleveland TN. The following is an informational update regarding the introduction of Semaglutides such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Majourno and Zepbound.

Ozempic, known generically as semaglutide, was approved in 2017 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in adults with type 2 diabetes. Ozempic is a weekly injection that helps lower blood sugar by inducing the pancreas to make more insulin. Ozempic is not approved for weight loss, but some physicians prescribe it to be used for weight loss, however, semaglutide is approved for weight loss under the name Wegovy. Ozempic has a smaller dose of semaglutide than Wegovy but both medications are essentially the same thing. Without insurance, Wegovy costs approximately $1,300 for a 28-day supply, or $15,600 annually. Ozempic can cost around $892 for a monthly supply without insurance, or $10,704 annually. Individuals who don't meet the FDA's criteria will likely have difficulty getting insurance to cover it.

How does it work?

Ozempic's action mimics a naturally occurring hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 that we naturally produce in our intestines, limiting appetite by signaling to our bodies that we feel full and prompting our stomachs to empty more slowly. This is similar to the effect of bariatric surgery. It's important to note that if you start taking semaglutide for weight loss, your body may get used to it, establishing a new lower digestive process and transit time than is normal. This can cause your weight to plateau. Research has shown that if you stop taking Ozempic (or Wegovy), it's likely that you will gain back the weight you lost. The rapid weight loss that occurs when using a semaglutide can result in significant muscle loss vs. fat loss. When you lose weight, you lose varying amounts of fat and muscle. But when you lose weight quickly, you are more likely to lose lean muscle mass. Our (Dr deRoos's) program focuses specifically on fat loss through dietary adjustments that support muscle maintenance and an increase of fat burning over muscle mass loss.

What is the Alternative?

We know that diet and lifestyle changes are the key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. They can also help manage or reverse some serious disease processes and conditions associated with obesity, such as hypertension, depression, osteoarthritis and type 2 diabetes. There are no negative side effects to improving diet and lifestyle, there are no magic pills or injectable drugs that result in weight loss without consequences. Sustainable weight loss requires changing your choices and your relationship with food and for these reasons, Our (Dr deRoos's) programs success is now at a decade and counting using natural means rather than placing clients at the previously mentioned risk factors using injectable drugs like Ozempic and other semiglutides.

For answers to your questions and to set up a consultation at no cost with our clinic director, call (423) 813-7575 to determine your best course for sustainable weight loss without the risks associated with injectables and drastic calorie reductions that lead to weight loss from lean muscle wasting. Call (423) 813-7575 daily from 8AM - 5PM.

Weight loss success awaits you here at Infinite Health Center with Dr. deRoos and staff! God bless you and we'll see you soon.
